A dissident who died in a Russian prison Alexei Navalny His loved ones formed long lines outside the church where his funeral was to take place. His family had been denied access to Navalny’s body for over a week and stated that they were being pressured to hold a private funeral ceremony.
On Thursday, his supporters said their attempt to rent a hearse to bring Navalny’s body to his own funeral was thwarted by unknown individuals.
Following the memorial service at the church, Navalny will be laid to rest at the Borisovsky Cemetery approximately 2.4 kilometers away.
