Home and Away Star Orpheus Pledger was arrested in Australia after three days of police investigation.
Authorities announced that the 30-year-old Pledger faces four charges of alleged assault against a woman.
The player was released on bail by court order to undergo a medical examination, with the condition to return the next day. He failed to appear in court. Police requested public information and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Victoria Police stated that the actor was arrested in Melbourne. No further details were disclosed.
Manager Craig McMahon told the Sydney Morning Herald that he had not contacted the player this week but was shocked by the assault allegations and mentioned that Pledger was dealing with mental health issues.
The actor has been appearing in Australian television programs for over twenty years. In 2016 Home and Away, he joined the cast and gained fame by portraying the character Mason Morgan for three years.
Previously, he appeared in the popular soap opera Neighbours as well as in the TV shows Silversun and CrashBurn.
