Türkkolu emphasized the seriousness of the incident in the region and stated that the official numbers did not reflect the truth.
Search and Rescue Studies
Following the landslide at the Çöpler Gold Mine in Erzincan İliç, search and rescue operations were initiated in the region. Even before the landslide, which was said to have been caused by cyanide-laden soil, warnings were issued.
Mineral Damages and Warnings
Türkkolu stated that they had warned the authorities multiple times about the damages caused by the mine and the necessity of its closure. However, he mentioned that they did not receive a response to their requests regarding an increase in the mine’s capacity.

Türkkolu stated that their biggest concern after the incident was to prevent gas poisoning and drew attention to the risk of gas poisoning in the region during rainy weather. He stressed that necessary measures must be taken to ensure the health of the people in the region.
