Ekrem İmamoğlu, the mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, visited the office of Bakırköy’s Mayor, DR. Ayşegül Ovalıoğlu, to extend his congratulations. İmamoğlu mentioned that they had largely completed their infrastructure investments, especially in Bakırköy, within the first five years: „We have initiated some of our superstructure projects with a focus on the surroundings and squares.“ He expressed his wishes for this time to be more active and bring luck to Bakırköy with the position of „president“. „We wish you success,“ he said.
During the visit to Ovalıoğlu’s office, İmamoğlu stated, „I wish Mrs. Ayşegül much success in her duty. I am confident that she and her team will provide a very valuable service in Bakırköy.“ „In a process shaped by both solidarity and common sense, as well as in relationships with the esteemed residents of Bakırköy, Bakırköy has no chance of being unhappy,“ he said. „May this time be a more fruitful time.“
İmamoğlu emphasized that they had experienced a very active process in Bakırköy in the first five years and said, „Now, we want to make the experience in Bakırköy more active in five years under female leadership.“ „I see that our leader has a strong political and administrative team. In this regard, we hope that together we will achieve the most active breakthroughs. Bakırköy is a very special district because of its name, but also an important district due to its central location and recent position as a ‚hub‘ where traffic converges. In this respect, hopefully, together with you, we will take steps to make it a renewed, strengthened, transformed, earthquake-resistant, yet pleasant and active center. Following the congratulatory visit, İmamoğlu and Ovalıoğlu held a joint table discussion with the facility’s employees on the issues of Bakırköy and ways to solve them.
