Dursun Müsavat Dervişoğlu was born in Ankara in 1960 and originally hails from Ordu Fatsa. He attended primary and secondary school in Fatsa. He completed his high school education in Ankara, Fatsa, and Samsun. In 1978, he enrolled in the Faculty of Business Administration at the Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences in Ankara. During the same period, he participated in idealistic student movements. He had to interrupt his education after the military coup on September 12, 1980. Later, he took advantage of the student amnesty and completed his education at Gazi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration. He undertook valuable tasks at many levels of the MHP and youth organizations. He was the president of the Fatsa Idealist Youth Association in 1978 and the General President of the Idealist Hearths from 1987 to 1989. In 1989, he was removed from his position as the chairman of the Youth Culture and Art Centers Association and assigned to the MÇP headquarters by the then chairman of the Nationalist Labor Party (MÇP), Alparslan Türkeş. He was then reassigned to the MHP Izmir organization on Türkeş’s orders. From 2000 to 2011, he was the provincial chairman of MHP Izmir. He was the mayoral candidate for MHP Izmir in the 2009 local elections and a parliamentary candidate in the 2011 general elections. He ran for the position of MHP chairman in 2012 but did not win. After the referendum in 2017, he left the MHP and later joined the YERLİ Party. Between 2018 and 2019, he was the deputy chairman of the İYİ Party and was responsible for municipal administrations. He served as a deputy from Izmir in the 27th term and was the deputy chairman of the cluster. T24
