British Prime Minister Rishi-AltarThe bill to send refugees to Rwanda has been approved in parliament.
The passing of the bill would pave the way for legal challenges regarding the potential deportation of dozens of asylum seekers.
Sunak has put the bill, which would unsystematically deport asylum seekers arriving in the UK to Kigali, at the forefront of efforts to deter small boats from crossing the English Channel.
Home Secretary James CleverlyHe said this is a „turning point in the plan to stop the boats.“
In a few days, it will become law
Clever, in an image posted on social media „Rwanda’s Security Bill has been passed by parliament and will come into force in a few days,“he said, continuing:
„The law will prevent people from abusing the clause by using fabricated human rights arguments to prevent their deportation. The law makes it clear that the British Parliament dominates and gives the government the power to reject temporary injunctions imposed by European courts.“
I promised to do everything necessary to pave the way for the inaugural flight. We have done that. „We are now working every day to start flights.“
