15 Passagiere wurden wegen Cholera-Verdachts isoliert; Das Schiff blieb mit Tausenden von Passagieren auf See

T24 International News

Due to suspicion of a cholera epidemic on board, Mauritius did not allow a cruise ship sailing under the Norwegian flag to anchor in the capital, Port Louis.

At least 15 people on the ship named „Norwegian Dawn“ were isolated due to suspected cholera.

Mauritian officials stated that the decision to block the ship was made „to prevent health risks.“ Samples were taken from isolated patients, and the final diagnoses are expected to be made tomorrow as a result of the tests carried out.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holding stated that passengers on the ship showed mild symptoms of a stomach illness during their visit to South Africa.

A Dutch passenger on the ship told NL Times that there could be a possible cholera outbreak on the Norwegian Dawn.

The Norwegian Dawn has 2,184 passengers and 1,026 crew members. Normally, two thousand of these passengers would have disembarked in Port Louis today. The company announced that passengers will now disembark on February 27.
