The accident took place on Friday, March 1, around 11:30 pm on Davutpaşa Street in the Mithatpaşa district. Oğuz Murat Aci (29), Tahsin Arslan (23), Süleyman Arslan (21), Hasan Topal (25), İbrahim Gümüş (27), who were traveling with 3 ATV engines, stopped on the safety lane after one of the engines malfunctioned.

At that moment, the luxury jeep driven by the 17-year-old Timur Cihantimur, traveling in the same direction, collided with the waiting group on the safety lane and fell into the irrigation canal.
While Oğuz Murat Aci died at the scene of the accident, Tahsin Arslan, Süleyman Arslan, Hasan Topal, and İbrahim Gümüş were injured.
